Choosing an independent living, assisted living, nursing home or Alzheimer's care facility is a difficult decision and everyone wants the best for themselves or their loved one.

Our goal at AssistedSeniorLiving is to highlight the exceptional facilities and services to help make choosing a senior care option a simple task. One way we do this is by highlighting exceptional facilities using review and by branding some facilities with our top rated logo. To get this top rating, a facility must:

  • Have ZERO deficiencies found by the state inspectors in the past 12 months and maintained ZERO deficiencies during the current year.
  • Have it least three reviews and maintain an average reviews of better than 4.5 out (on a scale of 5). All ratings must be made by the resident or by the family of current residents of the facility. Ratings for Alzheimer's care must be created by families of the resident.
  • Have a complete listing on this site that includes pictures inside and outside the facility, a complete list of amenities, information about costs at the facility, and complete contact information.
  • Comply with our terms of usage for this site.

For the few elite facilities that comply with these standards, you will see a special top-rated graphic next to the name of the facility, the facility will be listed in the top group of facilities for their location, they will also be included in a list of the best facilities and the facility can post a copy of the graphic on their web site so that potential residents can click on the graphic and see the review and other information.

This program is totally independent. It is not based on any financial relationship, the size of the facility or any hidden criteria for the facility. The criteria is mainly determined by families and residents at the facility in conjunction with the routine inspections required for a licensed facility. Although this site may include some facilities that are not licensed, these facilities can not be top rated. It is critical that facilities have independent validation of the safety of the facility by the state before any recommendation can be made. We also confirm the reviews before issuing a top-rated approval for a facility.

If you do not see a top-rated assisted living facility or other senior service at the top of a state or city directory page, that doesn't mean that there is not an exceptional service provider in your area. It simply means that the site has not gathered enough information about your area to rate one of the facilities.
