The services of an Ombudsman are available to center visitors as well as to family members regardless of where they reside. Anyone can report issues involving problems encountered in the nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or landlord/tenant issues for those residing in independent living situations. The main responsibility of the Ombudsman is to ensure that seniors and their relatives are knowledgeable in regard to senior citizen rights at the local, state, and federal government level.

The Waynesboro Senior Center hosts two rather unique annual events. Every June, on Young At Hearts Day, seniors have the opportunity to enjoy the nostalgia of summer camp during a day filled with crafts, food, and outdoor fun activities. Each December, a Senior Prom is hosted by nursing interns from a nearby university. Complete with decorations and live music, this activity brings back fond memories to some and makes new ones for others.
