Although there are over 1.1 million seniors in New Jersey, the area is only ranked 39th in the US as a percentage of seniors to total population. New Jersey is also ranked as the third most expensive place to live in the United States with an average cost of living index for 2007 equal to 127, it is an extremely expensive area to retire in and to live in an assisted living facility. This site was designed to be used in conjunction with governmental sites to provide a complete picture about all the options available in New Jersey for assisted living in nursing homes. Future expansion of the site will also include independent living and other retirement community. Our goal is to have a reviews from existing assisted living residents to help guide consumers in finding the best fit. We are also tabulating as much financial information about the cost at various facilities as possible. This will allow consumers to shop and compare the four day start visiting some of the local assisted living facilities. Wherever possible, we have included photos and other details about New Jersey assisted-living. This site is independent and is designed to make selecting an assisted living facility a less stressful experience. Moving into an assisted living facility is stressful enough, even if you know it is the best facility around. Knowledge is power and we hope that this site is very useful in helping you compile a list of optional New Jersey facilities. Continuing care is an excellent option because it allows a residents to move to greater or lesser care based on their current health condition.

In New Jersey, a senior services-division of long-term care systems is responsible for periodic inspection of all assisted living facilities.
