Details About Beverwyck House of Merry Heart

It was built in 1809 and served as the home of Governor Charles Edison, son of the famous inventor, Thomas A. Edison from 1934 to 1941. Ever since the 1950s, when it was first used as a rest home, it has housed programs that address the care needs ofmunity seniors. It was purchased by Rudy and Blanche Bonifacio in 1982 and managed as a Beverwyck Nursing Home, a skilled nursing facility that housed 24 residents. It remained so until 2003 when it was renovated and made into an 18-bed senior care center, Beverwyck House of Merry Heart, in 2003. Residents of this facility enjoy a close-knit family atmosphere with the staff and other residents.
