Columbia is home to a number of parks including the 18-acre Finlay Park which hosts concerts, political rallies and Easter services. The 1,419-acre Sesquicentennial State Park includes a large lake, trails and picnic areas as interpretative nature programs. A popular area recreational spot is the 78 square miles of Lake Murray whether boating, fishing, swimming or just lounging on one of the lake's 500 miles of shoreline.
