Would not recommend to my worst enemy

Just a partial list of our bad experience with Newport Subacute Healthcare Center:

1. Unanswered questions and dismissive answers regarding patient care and the refusal of head nurse to meet with family to address concerns despite admin attempting to set up a meeting. 2. When serious health concerns were addressed to staff, we were told it was "normal" when if fact, it was not. 3. Bedsores. 4. Poor quality food which does not meet dietary guidelines. 5. Overwhelming smell of urine throughout the facility. 6. Unanswered call lights or assistants would come in and turn the call lights off and say "someone will be with you shortly" and no one would come back. This was a daily and nightly occurrence and repeated with every patient. 7. Understaffed and staffing with limited communication skills. 8. Substandard physical therapy. 9. Patients who sit in their own waste and vomit for hours. 10. Staff removes food trays before patient has finished or fails to assist in feeding those with difficulty 11.Staff Doctor who is only on site 1 day a week and only for a few hours which would be impossible to see every patient in the facility. 12.Requests by the patient to have their family contacted ignored and the patient lied to by staff that they called and spoke to the family. 13.Requests by the family to be contacted 24/7 if patient is upset were ignored. 14.Staff mocking patients and making faces at them in attempts to incite anger on the part of the patient. 15.TV's that do not work and patients left in their rooms with no entertainment or interaction.
