I would not place my worst enemy in the Manor Care facility located in Venice, FL. It started with what was supposed to be a 3 week plan to get my dad rehabilitated back into assisted living. He was there for 9 days and took 9 falls. Was told by the Director of Nursing that bed rails needed to be ordered by the Dr, and that "by law", they had to let him fall...what the what??? The DON was very rude, and had the audacity to tell my sister that she (my sister) was "really something", after my sister questioned why he was falling so much and not being assisted. The DON obviously forgets WHO she is serving and working for!!! We will be contacting our attorney, and would also like the name of this woman's supervisor. She is rude, arrogant, ruthless, and needs to fall off her high horse - she's despicable to say the LEAST!!! My dad left Manor Care alright - in an ambulance and back into the hospital bc he was covered in bruises, had a black eye AND was septic!! Do NOT entrust the care of your loved one to Manor Care of Venice (FL) unless you are prepared to plan their funeral soon after!!
