Envive of Evansville

The Good Samaritan Home opened its doors in 1962 to provide for the long term health care needs of the elderly. Since then, it has grown to its present 128 nursing home beds, 18 residential apartments, and 54 bed Alzheimer's community (Pathways). An additional 30 bed Medicare unit, The Pavilion, provides short term skilled care. The mission of The Good Samaritan Home is to provide a caring community through an atmosphere of Christian love and concern. We are Medicare and Medicaid approved.

With 200 beds, Envive of Evansville is one of the larger communities in the area, senior care communities in Evansville average about 102 beds. Larger communities more often keep clinical staff on site around the clock and can offer a wider range of on-site therapy and activities, though some families prefer the quieter feel of a smaller setting.

Federal reporting puts occupancy at about 59% of its licensed beds, so availability is more likely here than at busier communities nearby. That is below the Evansville average of roughly 73%.

Medicare rates this community 1 out of 5 stars overall, a score based on health inspections, staffing levels and quality measures. Communities in Evansville average about 2.5 stars. The individual scores differ noticeably: 3 stars for staffing against 1 star for health inspections, so it is worth reading both before deciding.
