Most of the staff could care less if your loved ones live or die. My grandfather stayed here and I c had no control. He always had bed sores and infections leading to hospitilizations. They did not take care of his diabetes leading to amputation of both legs. He died of an untreated infection.
More recently my farther was sent here. He was unable to speak, lift his arts to feed himself or get a drink. He went all day without water. If we didn't site up at mealtimes he didn't eat because no one would feed him. There was another lady at the table in a similar situation. No one oasis attention to her either. The food was tasteless and bland, no seasoning. They refused to let us bring in did that dad might like to eat. Indra of putting a diaper on dad they put pads under and over him, which we had to change because they were always soaked and dad had a severe rash from it. At about 9 days, we found dad laying in bed like someone just dropped him there, on the side that hurts him. something happened to his hand, wrist and arm. His right arm and hand is swollen like Popeye. It looked like a scrape mark. We asked what happened, no one knew. Two days later the bath aid said dad balled up his fists at her, fought her and cussed her out using words we know he would never use. She thinks that is when he hurt his hand. We know this is wrong because he can't move his arms, close his hands to make a fist, nor can he speak. The next day they lost his lower denture. He is a Berrian so when he got then his name was stamped in them. So they started pureeing his food, still not feeding him or giving him fluids. My mom came in and found him one evening with two pair of tight socks on and curtains drawn, lights out and soaking wet and shivering. He had been out down die the night. Same clothes he'd had on for two days. She changed him, cleaned him up and got him warm. His teeth were found 4 days later, supposedly in another person's room. After same few days of complaining the home finally agreed to xray dad's arm/hand. Only for us to discover next day the only xrayed his thumb. Finally, we got a buys to agree that he needed to go to the hospital. So, he was sent to hospital. Findings: SEVERLY degydrated, bedsores, huge blisters, nearly as big around as baseball's on his heels, blood in his urine from being backed up, he wasn't swallowing right from strole and needed a feeding ribs and they wold have noticed had they fed him in the two weeks he was there. We are still waiting on results of MRI And xray of his hand arm and shoulder. The doctors at the hospital say his shoulder looks deformed. Our best guess is that when his hand got scraped up, the night he was in the bed funny...someone dropped him from the lift and tried to hide it.
Moral: dont sent your loved ones here unless you want then to die.
