This facility is well kept, offers good food, nice apartments and a safe environment but lacked the personal/emotional care that my 98 year old independent father required, especially during his transition from independent living. He became isolated and depressed and although I spoke about his needs to staff they were limited in their response. Nursing staff generally lacked warmth and knowledge of residents needs. An example being that he went to hospital and returned and when I called them to check in, they said they were unaware that he had been in the hospital. They sent my father to the ER for basically nothing several times and although they are bound by regulations and concern for liability, they showed little common sense before a decision was made to call EMS. Nursing showed no effort to engage in a supportive manner even as they saw my father withdraw and become depressed. Recreation opportunities were present but the individual in charge showed little understanding of senior issues and never made attempts to reach out to him as he became more isolated other than maybe with a phone call. Overall, I felt they lacked training on senior issues and the personal touch. If your loved one simply needs a clean, well appointed place this might work but if they need that personal touch especially transitioning from independent living, I would think twice.
