The Amsterdam at Harborside

The Amsterdam at Harborside offers independent living but combines it with available healthcare when needed. It is a very active lifestyle and the residents are like one big family because there is constant interaction. Every day there are things to do including musical entertainment, gym classes, talks on current events or historical subjects or the arts. There are trips to theaters and museums. The dining room always buzzes with conversation and the food is very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. But that is only half of it all - the other part is the attached health care facility, the Tuttle Center, which is available at no extra cost. It includes skilled nursing, assisted living, a memory unit, and hospice. I had reason to use the skilled nursing briefly and I must say that the people were very caring (and my wife had no problem visiting me any time of the day). We have been here almost 5 years and we know we could not have made a better choice.

We feel blessed to be living here. The Amsterdam at Harborside is a retirement community with a big plus. My wife and I consider it a terrific deal !!! We have been here over 4 years now. It's a bit like living on a cruise ship, but with even more activities (and a much larger "cabin"). On top of that, when or if either of us has a serious health problem we will be taken care of in the attached facilities (the Tuttle Center) which cover skilled nursing, assisted living, memory problems and hospice care - all at no extra cost. In short, it is what is called a CCRC or a life care facility.
