Resident & family reviews

Looks good, isn't

Cleaning is good. HEALTH CARE HORRIBLE. STAFF states they are unable to call the doctor, must call the family to determine if resident goes to the hospital. Not even a nurse present to assess resident. Staff makes uneducated remarks about decline of residents and hopelessness of situation, coloring family decisions. Have only med techs to assess situation. Activities are not in any way focused on maintaining memory and functioning. If staff does not have time to care for resident they state that resident refused care and they are not permitted to do it. Really? These are dementia patients who are not able to make decisions. If resident or visitors call for help, staff states someone will be there . No one comes and the resident falls over and over trying to get to the bathroom without assistance. No ambulatory help is provided. Residents are continually asked to sit down as they attempt to get up to relieve their back pain and fall to the floor. Any chance of movement is prohibited making residents weaker and weaker and finally chair bound with their backs hurting unbearably. Staff needs training about mobility and range of motion to keep residents healthy and pain free. Staff also needs training about the different types of dementia and solutions to behavior and mobility problems, how to treat residents with respect. Most of the problems occur in the evenings after friends and family are gone.
