I have a relative staying there now. The nurses are kind but not attentive. She has special needs and they don't bring her the right food that is requested. They give you a menu to fill out but they ignore it. She has to wait at least 45 min to get help to the bathroom. If you have the time to be there with your family member 12 hrs/day then it may be OK. Otherwise, find somewhere else.

My father was due to be released from Mount Nittany after a hip replacement. He needed to go to a rehab facility. The day that my dad had surgery I contacted Hearthside by e-mail, it was late on a Friday night. I did not hear from them by Monday morning the day he was to be released so I telephone them first thing in the morning. The person that answered the phone told me that the admissions person was in a meeting, I waited for about two hours and no phone call. I called back and she told me that the person was returning phone calls. One week later and I have never received a phone call or an e-mail back from them which leaves me to wonder if they can't return a simple message what kind of care can they provide. Or do they treat their patients the same way ignore them.

My father has been in the Hearthside for 2 years now. He is in the dementia unit. Everyone has been very nice to my father and our family. I would recommend this facility.
