The best thing that can be said is, it smells clean.
This facility provides minimum care, little followup of identified problems. My 70 year old friend entered with a broken arm, and was supposed to have surgery to set it while in rehab. By failing to get a timely medical clearance (which under Medicare part A they are responsible for and should have paid for), the surgery was never done, and she was discharged almost 2 months later with the arm still in its original cast. It will have to be rebroken and set in order to be repaired.
The discharge plan was not complete even on the day before discharge. The administrator's comment was that they were going to arrange home health and APS followup the next day (a weekend). She stated that they were satisfied that they had provided an adequate level of care and "met their responsibility".
Medications were delivered 4 hours late during my visit. Blood thinners. My friend is troubled with severe constipation, but was given no fiber supplements, and an essentially fiber free diet.
On my way out after my last visit, I glanced into a room and found a patient on the floor. There was no notice of fall precautions on the room and there appeared to be no precautions in place.
