Resident & family reviews
A Nurse at this facility thought it funny that one of their residents was
sitting on the edge of his bed naked and took photo's of him naked with
her cell phone, she then showed it to other employees and the Head of
this facility new this. This has been about 3 years ago, but I would never
let a family member stay in ANY nursing or assisted living situation. There
are too many medication mix ups, physical abuse and neglect etc. in each
and every facility, I know because we went through at least 6 of them with
family members, one family member decided to take his own life than to go
back into a nursing home situation after the horrific treatment he received
in one in south Eugene while recuperating from surgery. It should not
come to this, our elderly and disabled family members deserve better.
And what is up with taking all their money and only giving them $30 per
month for personal expenses? That amount hasn't changed since the
1960's. It is there money and if they don't like the food they should be
able to order take out and have it delivered as well as purchase food items
to keep at the facility...like real cheese, a good shampoo and body soap
that doesn't already dry out a elderly persons skin. And what if you are
allergic to things like food, who is going to cook your special foods and
purchase skin and oral items that cost more than $30.00. Heck a hair cut
is at least $12.00 and there goes half your allotment. If you are a smoker,
they only allow you a couple of cigarettes per day. It should be your
money and you should be able to buy the sames things there as you did at
home.
