My mother is currently a resident of Legacy Court (Dementia) at Harbour Assisted
Living of South Hills. The level of care is sub-standard, and we are looking to
move my mother to another facility. Just a few examples of some RECENT care
issues:
Arrived to visit my mother on several occasions and she had been sitting in a soiled
diaper (and was evident that she had been sitting it for a few hours)
Basic care like combing hair and putting teeth in are not done by 1:00 in the
afternoon. Hearing-aid batteries are NEVER replaced
Issuing antibiotics for a urinary tract infection without notifying the family of
either the infection and the course of action!
Arriving to find that my mother has a bruised toe and the staff saying that they
are not sure how she got it, perhaps she did it a few nights ago when we found
her sleeping on the floor. (an incident that we were never notified of)
All of this care for a monthly cost of over $5,000.
If you love your parent, please don't put them in this facility!!!
