Resident & family reviews
Our family member lived at Emeritus at Friendswood for 10 months. Although it appears to
be a very nice place, it is not suitable for someone in need of extensive help and
supervision. They do not provide the kind of help that some residents need and do not
address issues that arise from this neglect. It is probably just fine for someone in need of
basic "assisted living", but for an Alzheimer's patient with greater needs it can be a very
dangerous environment. I would not recommend this facility.

My mom resided at Emeritus Friendswood for approximately 2.5
years. The main reason for moving her to an assisted living facility in
the first place was for the medication administration as she was
unable to keep up with her dosing schedule. On two separate
occasions at Emeritus, she went into atrial fibrillation and as it turned
out, she had not been receiving her heart medication - not given at all
for weeks at a time. No explanation given as to why. There had been
numerous other medication opportunities that had I not been in
charge of filling the scripts versus Emeritus filling the scripts through
their own service, I would not have known there was a problem.
Mom has moved to a new facility that has made a world of difference
to her quality of life. Timely medication, tasty meals and constant
attention to life's details have made for a happy transition to her new
home at a greatly reduced financial demand I will add.
I would not recommend Emeritus Friendswood on not just the
medication blunders but many more which are too numerous to go
into detail here.
