The Peaks, A Senior Living Community

This is a strikingly beautiful structure and location, the staff is extremely friendly
always with a smile and greeting. If that's all your loved one needs, they might be
happy here. Unfortunately that is the best they'll get at The Peaks. The level of
utter incompetence demonstrated by the staff is almost unbelievable! The food is
practically inedible .... burnt toast, cold eggs, leathery meat, small portions
(almost a blessing!), unappetizing ..... you get the picture. I cannot believe that
they would actually set a plate of this garbage down in front of someone! The
cleaning and kitchen staff are extremely underpaid and it shows .... the ones who
stick around at all act like they just don't care .... smiling and friendly, yes, but
that's pretty much it. The transportation facilities are junk constantly in need of
repair and no 4X4 vehicle in a town that sits at 7000 ft elevation with often heavy
snow and poor road conditions. The nursing staff is the most incompetent and
clueless I've ever experienced constantly screwing up prescriptions and, well .... I
could write several pages on them alone! It breaks my heart every time I see and
talk to some of the residents and hear how unhappy they are living in this place!
The rent is very high especially considering the poor quality of this facility. There is
ONE elevator that has to serve this entire 3 story building .... it scares me to think
what would happen if there was a fire ..... evacuation would be virtually
impossible! Lots of promises in the brochure are pure fiction, etc., etc. ....
Unfortunately there are very few other choices for assisted living in Flagstaff. The
folks who run this place should be absolutely ashamed of themselves! Oh ... they'll
sure give you a friendly smile, though!
