My mother suffered months of neglect and mistreatment in this
facility. She had repeated pressure ulcers, urinary tract infections, and
dehydration. As soon as she would be hospitalized, she would recover
in a few days with no distress. As soon as she was sent back to Golden
Peaks, she would relapse within 1-3 weeks. Often, when checking up
on her, whichever nurse was in charge of her care would know nothing
about her. On her last hospital admission, she was suffering from
dehydration, septicemia and had blood sugar of over 600. She was
also found to have un-chewed food in her mouth, which she may have
been sucking on for 3 days while unconscious. When we complained of
her poor care to her doctor and the treating hospitals, she was
abruptly discharged without notice.
Upon further research, we discovered that we were not the only
unhappy family and other joined in with us to complain to the health
dept.
