Resident & family reviews
One year ago while my father-in-law was a patient there, he had 2
very bad falls. One on Labor Day, 2008 when we came into the facility
and passed the Nurses Station he was quite upset and knew that I,
being an RN and he said " I've been rolling around on the floor all
morning. I fell out of bed and was screaming and I know you (myself)
are the only one that believes me". I asked if I could check his skin
and head where I found 2 large eggs, a skin tear on his arm and a
huge bruise on his leg. I went back up to the floor and asked for the
charge RN and her name and License # which she refused. I told her
we did not get any call, no neuro signs had been done, no doc called
regarding his fall. The bed had been left in the highest position and
the alarm that was on him was actually broken. I spoke with the QC
RN who was covering. We both found this, the door had been closed
and we set off a new alarm and no one came. I came back that
evening and promised that I would bring him home. I would not send
my pets there. It was a horrendous experience and not therapeutic for
someone in the end stages. Prior to coming home to die he had fallen
again and never was conscious from the day before he came home. I
took full physical care of him and he had Mr Wong's pants on who was
very tall, a huge deep bruise on his abdomen and was given the
Ativan and Morphine before coming home so he was definitely
over-medicated, I have no doubt and it appeared in the bottles that
liquid was lower than it should have been.It is an appalling facility,
had not had any recent DPH survey which is almost unheard of. I
attempted to contact the Administrator to have the LPN written up and
suspended to no avail. No one ever returned my calls. Do not send
even your worst enemy there. It may look pretty, but what goes on is
a completely different story. This man deserved better.
