Resident & family reviews
This particular facility has always had issues as far back as I can
remember being there, which was 1986. The smell of urine, feces, and
unwashed bodies has alwayd been a constant here. My father had to be
put in a home the last few months of his life, and due to his requiring a
trachaeotomy, this was the local place we had to place him, against our
better judgement none the less. They were the only ones in town who
was supposed to be trained to deal with a trachaeotomy patient, turns
out, that was a joke just like the rest of the place. Daddy was not even
there a full 3 hours, and they could not handle the responsibility, so he had
to be returned to the hospital, and we had to place him elsewhere. As a
former employee of this facility when it was under different ownership and
administration, dissapointment does not even begin to describe how the
unacceptable care and indifference of the staff seems to filter down from
administration dow to the last of the hourly paid employees. Come on
people, you need to get it together, and get the facility up to minimum
standards. The people you are caring for all have loved ones, whether it is
a niece or nephew, to their own child, andanybody who is halfway human
would not knowingly commit their loved ones to the care of those who
could basically be considered the Nazis of Nursing Homes! These people
who have worked hard all of their lives, and have given unselfishly to
society deserve better than what you are giving them! The regulations for
skilled nursing facilities really needs to be tightened, more unannounced
Division of Aging inspections need to take place, and substandard facilitles
need to be held accountable. I know that this is a difficult industry to work
in, I spent several years as a dietary aide, cook, nursing assistant, and
laundry worker, so I have a clear picture, but I have also worked at
facilities that were top notch, and treated their residents like they were
god's and goddesses, and their residents loved the staff, and we as the
staff loved them. How about bringing a little humanity and humility back
into the business? Would you want your loved ones to be treated badly?
