Mariner Health Care of Wilmington

My mother fell at home and had t go to this place for rehab. Although, there were
some very caring nurses,CNA's and housekeepers they were few. I dropped in at
many different times and saw some horrible things.
There were "residents" strapped to their wheelchairs for hours without anything to
drink or their "diapers" changed. 75% of the CNA's were rude to these residents
and some were down right mean! I complained to the director of nursing and to the
administration and was told it would be taken care of but the CNA's were still there
when mother was discharged.
Patients fell and were not taken to the hospital or x-rayed, NO ONE even called
the doctor. One of the patients we became close to fell in her bathroom and was
there for 10 minutes or more. She was not taken to the hospital and her daughter
and I were lied to when she asked if her mother was x-rayed or even seen by the
doctor. The patient was getting worse by the day and after 3 days she was finally
taken to the ER due to her daughters insistence. She was found to have a broken
pelvis, pneumonia and an impacted bowel. She has been in the hospital for over 3
weeks. There was one lady who died sitting in her wheelchair in the hallway and no
one noticed until another resident saw her coloring, which as purple, and alerted
the staff.
All I can say i if you have any alternative go ANY WHERE ELSE !!!
