Nursing staff and aides are all pleasant and the level of care seems adequate. However, you are on your own to figure out how to get them to do as you'd like for your family member. It appears that administrative staff has not put procedures in place to efficiently inform all nurses and aides of specific personal preferences for residents, so you have to monitor your family member's daily existence and inform all nurses and aides of their preferences regularly. Then you have to hope there's not too much turnover so you won't have to start all over again. Limited staff means there's no time to accommodate a resident unless a family member is there to see to it that it is done, which means an awful lot of family member time is devoted to insisting personal choices are followed on a regular basis. In the case of residents who don't have family or friends advocating for them, their requests are often denied. Residents who want to go to bed are forced instead to wilt in a wheelchair in front of the nurses station. Residents who have difficulty eating by themselves are sometimes not adequately helped. And residents who have tea or coffee on their menu, but can't ask for it, generally don't get it.
