Broomall Rehabilitation And Nursing Center

My 80 plus year old parents walked into the Broomhall Rehabilitation Center in 2005 and 14 months later they were both dead within 12 days of each other. One occasion I found my father seriously sick with a respiratory illness and they said they would take care of it. Two days later my sister found him in worse shape and we had to have him hospitalized. My mother's death was listed as Parkinson's disease but she really died of apparently of sepsis from a bed sore that they did not manage well. My father had Alzheimer's and was unable to feed himself. When I visited a pudding sat in front of him unopened and no one fed him until I asked. He was strapped in a wheel chair and we were told he was non-communicating but he spoke to me. He was just ignored. My mother was fearful of one of the orderlies. She would whisper when he came by and said he told her he was the man, that everyone had to do what the man said and not give him any trouble. One of my siblings was my parents' power of attorney and as a result none of the staff would provide information about their condition when I called and they would ignore my requests to help them especially the time I found my father so Feverish and sick. My parents had health issues but should not have degenerated so much so quickly. Worse was the costs were astronomical for such poor care.
