Alameda Oaks Nursing Center

We placed my mother here for a weekend to see how things would
work out as we were looking for a long term care facility. I would highly
recommend against placing a loved one in this facility. Our mother
was on soft foods and as I walked in I viewed the nurse telling
another to stop feeding that particular patient so they could get out of
the cafeteria area. At that point is when she saw me walking in. The
look on my mother?s face was one I had not seen before. She hadn't
been fed any of her food. The nurse had the nerve to tell me, "she
won't eat". Hmm..what the hec! Of course she won't, she can't! She's
unable to feed herself and the food "must" be soft. All of this was
indicated on her chart. Way too much to type. I reported the facility to
APS. DO NOT take your love one here.

Our mother spent some time here to allow for my father and care
givers a break. They didn't giver her any of her medication, nursing
staff was not friendly. I could write an entire book chapter. Facility
itself looks wonderful, doesn't smell. Please..please rethink about
leaving your love one in this facility.
