Resident & family reviews
Their motto is "Our family is committed to yours", that is as long as you can
walk, talk and feed yourself. As your cognitive or physical skills decline their
commitment appears to wane and you may be asked to find a new facility to
keep your family member "safe". Silly me I thought that is what I was already
paying for!
This is a large facility managed by one of the largest corporations. I believe
decisions are made hundreds of miles away by "corporate" who have little or
no interaction with residents or staff.
I would encourage families to explore some of the smaller locally
owned/operated facilities. Don't be fooled by the fancy dcor and furniture-it's
really not that comfortable. The money would would be better spent on
increasing staffing levels!

I just wanted to take the time to let others know Stevens Point's best
kept secret... Oakridge Senior Living Community. First, the faciltiy is
unbelievable. It is exceptionally clean and decorated to the "nines."
However, it is still has a "homey" atmoshere which is crucial. Second
the service is amazing. All of the staff assist their residents in
whatever is needed. The cooks come out and talk to the residents.
The CNA's help with the meals. The maintenance worker is also
leading the rosary. This allows all of the staff to understand each
others' roles and allows for impecable service. The activities are
endless. The staff are genuinely in it for the right reasons, they truly
care.
Finally, I would like to commend Beth and Marcia. they truly lead by
example. I would see both Beth and Marcia wearing "all the hats."
They would be pushing food carts for residents, while dressing fo a
Halloween parade, while talking to a doctor regarding medication for
my mother. Talk about multitasking. Beth and Marcia are always
going out of their way to not only to help their residents feel
comfortable, but to help the families, as well. I was so impressed with
the countless hours that they spend at Oakridge. Whatever and
whenever you need them they are there for you. My parents were not
an easy case to say the least. Both were extremely difficult to deal
with for many reasons. However, Beth and Marcia dealt with every
issue with ease. They make you feel so relieved with such a difficult
decision that needs to be made. They became part of our family.
Clearly they are not in it for the money. They do what they do
because they are genuinely caring, compassionate peolpe. They
deserve nothing but the best that life has to offer for what they have
done for so many.
