My Mother has been living at Heritage Hill for nearly two months and I
must say that everyone has been exceptional. My Mother is adjusting
very slowly as she has never been a sociable person. The staff treats
the patients with understanding and kindness. They get tucked in at
night as if they were loved parents or grandparents and I've even
heard caregivers say "good night" and "I love you." It's not easy what
we're all going through but it does my heart good to go to bed at
night knowing that my Mother is being treated in a tender loving
manner. They try to make all the residents feel comfortable and at
home. I decorated Mother's room with lots of her familiar pictures and
things from home and that makes it easier for recognize her room. It
costs more than she makes and Medicare does not pay anything so
hopefully we can find a way to keep her there. It is much nicer than a
regular nursing home.
