Elmcroft of Northridge

For the years I had my parent in the Alzheimer's Care, it started out with
very good care as I would pop in at various times of day or evening. I did
notice that the employee turnover was frequent, but that did not change the
quality of care until they acquired all of the licenses needed to grow and
when I removed my loved one last year the ratio was 12 residents to one
employee. (I asked the day we left what that ratio was.)

Clothes, shoes, and a wheelchair were missing the day I removed my mom
and I gave a few days notice thinking that they'd be aware of gathering her
things, but not to be.

I got an irritated response when I nicely insisted that I get the wheelchair I
brought there back. (They were handing me a chair with only one leg which
was totally unsafe.) And after an hour of searching for that wheelchair's legs
I was told that as far as her clothes and shoes, "well they'd have to wait and
they'd call me when they found them." I have yet to get that call.

The management staff are so nice and loving, as were the staff on Heartland
Village, but as they have increased their number of residents, it's been too
much for the florr staff to privide the quality care I wanted beside the rate
increase for the coming year made it an easy decision to leave.
