I have a sibling: Michael John Weis has been a resident of WCAY
Homes for ten or more years. It is great pleasure to receive contact
information regarding his reviews of performance and services being
provided. However, I am not happy with the current and past
administrations of Schwarzenegger and Brown who want to make cuts
to people who are disadvantaged (developmentally disabled) and
these cuts that they are proposing will very place them below the
safety net. Despite this, the residents and Michael J. Weis are very
well taken care of. The homes are very well clean and furnished.
Micheal often gives me reports of guys such as Frank who takes them
places and buys them the things they need. Despite Michaels'
behavior episodes they seem to be helping him. I can understand
the discipline they give him when he acts up. None of it is physical,
verbal, or emotional abuse. Michael has experienced enough of it
earlier in his life. It was not very helpful when he was abandoned by
his fathers side of the family when he was a baby. Perhaps this has
had an impact on his behavior. Finally, for the guys and gal who
everyday 24/7 who look after these guys including my brother Michael
J. Weis. You are a great team and thumbs up to each of you, and the
case workers who devote their time in managing their cases.
