Heritage at Lake Forest (The)

My parent is a resident in the assisted living facility. There has been an ongoing problem with sufficient nursing and medical support staff. Do not assume you can put a loved one in this assisted living facility and s/he will be well monitored. You must constantly advocate for your loved one, must check in frequently, and may be forced to hire additional help. It is fine if your loved one is independent. However, if your loved one is failing in health due to the problems of old age, I would recommend looking elsewhere. My family has been sorely disappointed. Posted 1/26/13

My mother was falling and disoriented at times, she lived alone and we were all very worried after our father died. She was found to have extremely elevated blood sugar levels and was given insulin injections. She gets her meds administered to her directly, she eats three meals a day, and the facility is the most beautiful ALF I have ever seen. Not to mention there is no nasty smells, like at some facilities.
