Almost 6 months after my mother's apartment and the hallway outside was flooded due to a water line rupture, repairs had still not been done and there was visible black growth appearing all up the Sheetrock in the hallways and inside my mother's apartment. She pays $3570.00 in rent for a two bedroom in the Independent section of Garden Estates. Since the flood her breathing issues have grown exponentially worse. After a recent hospital stay our mom needed some extra help so we stayed with her a few days and saw the filth and began asking for things to be cleaned and completed and for documentation of mold testing and mold abatement if necessary. A week later the administration is now just ignoring our requests to work with them on the issue, and apparently have tossed the issue to the corporate office. There is still no resolution, and in visiting with other residents Iam hearing about roach infestations and a climate of fear if residents complain. We are not going away until the mold issue is addressed to our satisfaction, but what about the residents who have nobody advocating for them?

Garden Estates has taken wonderful care of my father. The staff is great and oh so friendly! He has been very happy there for over five years and so glad they believe in aging in place!
