Serenity Mountain Manor is a family owned assisted living homelocated in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in north
GA. We strive to provide a homelike atmosphere where people
are comfortable, happy, and left with the utmost dignity. We set
out to create a home our residents will feel is their own. The
transition from living at home alone to living in a small
community can be diffuicult for both the seniors and their
families. Our personalized care for each individual allows them

My mother (age 92) was a resident for over one year. I had no
complaints about the facility until I received a phone call from Kelly
Kirk on a Wednesday that my mother had to leave "immediately". I
asked for the remainder of the month (2 weeks) which was paid for
and was told no. I asked for the remainder of the week in order to
make preparations to move her. Again Kelly said no, she was being
discharged immediately. I feel this was a dis-service to my mother
and myself. She ended up the in ER that day with a Urinary Tract
Infection and was hospitalized.
I initiated a conversation with the Administrator on the previous Friday
as I realized my mother was declining regarding how long she could
remain at an assisted living. At that time I was given no reason to
expect she was be immediately discharged in 5 days. An Assisted
Living Facility should have to give notice rather than try to "dump"
someone who may be acting out due to illness.
