My uncle lives here. Grand Court is now Desert Springs. Since the new owners
took over we've seen the facility slowly deteriorate on many levels. Thankfully
most of the care staff remain the same and they are excellent. But as often
happens, the lowest paid employees are awesome and the management is
failing. The food has become very undesirable and they often don't even have
staples in stock such as salt and pepper, butter, etc. I've tasted the cooking
and it really is horrible. It seems that the "chef" has no cooking ability. Food
is a major issue for everyone but especially seniors. The facility is in bad need
of updating and repairs. It's also very difficult for residents to get basic repairs
done within their apartment. The house keeping has declined. Not so much the
people doing it but the amount of time they are allowed to spend in each unit.
The shuttle has been cut way back, making it difficult for those who do not
drive. We would love our uncle to move to a better place but he has friends
here and the care staff is wonderful.
