The department responsible for regulating, monitoring and enforcing assisted living in Vancouver is Washington's Department of Social and Health Service. Under their umbrella is the Aging and Disability Services Administration where details on senior living options can be found. Go to their website to learn more about Vancouver assisted living options and paying for care.

Sitting along the Columbia River, the Fort Vancouver National Site is a 366-acre walk back in time. The site interprets the American Indian experience, the once dominant British Hudson's Bay Company and the U.S. Army's role in the area.

Through the City of Vancouver's Parks and Recreation Department, seniors can early 7,000 acres of parkland, 44 miles of trails, pools, a tennis/racquetball center, and community centers such as the Luepke Senior Center (1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd), which offers, bingo, pinochle, quilting, writing groups; legal, financial and wellness clinics; dances; and a free computer lab. The center also hosts trips with upcoming destinations that include the Klager Lilac Gardens, the Primate Sanctuary, Cannon Beach, and the Salem World Beat Festival.
