Meridian Assisted Living

Mississippi is a beautiful state with a lot of sites to see. Meridian has plenty of great assisted living facilities and activities for people to enjoy. The only problem that many seem to have with an ALF is that they are under the impression that they are nursing homes, which isn’t true. An ALF is nothing like a nursing home. In an assisted living facility you are free to leave whenever you want, but you always have help when you need it. Two of the most common things people need help with in an ALF are, getting dressed in the morning and remembering to take their medicine. Your family can’t help you with everyone forever, and that’s what an assisted living facility is there for.

The average cost for living in an assisted living facility is usually directly related to the cost of living in the area it’s located in. This is why a Meridian assisted living facility only costs on average of $31,200 annually, which is about $2,600 a month. This price of living isn’t expected to increase any time soon either, so you can be sure that Meridian is a good place to live for those who don’t want to spend that much money.

With all the extra free time you will have on your hands, you will want some interesting places to visit that are nearby. Luckily Meridian has plenty of things for you to do and see. The first and one of the most interesting sites to see in Meridian is the Highland Park Dentzel Carousel. This carousel was manufactured in 1896 by a man named Gustav Dentzel for the 1904 St. Louis Exposition. The carousel was later sold to the city of Meridian where it’s cared for and maintained. It’s a fun piece of history with an interesting story behind it; it’s not every day you get to see a carousel made in 1896.

If golfing is more of your thing, than you will have plenty of courses to attempt to conquer. The Briarwood Golf Course is one of the highest rated courses in the region that has long and hilly courses which will challenge even the most hardened of veterans. The course even has a signature hole, number 14, which is a par 4 that requires a strong swing, yet delicate precision.
