Around every corner in New Haven lurks something of historical importance. The 16-acre New Haven Green park was completed in 1638 by the city's Puritans and is home to three 18^th century churches. Fort Nathan Hale was constructed in 1776 to protect the port of New Haven. Beautiful Edgerton Park was once the home of Eli Whitney.
