I vistited my aunt at the facilty today, and after waiting at the nursing desk for 10 minutes - with aids, etc walking by and NO one asking me if I needed anything........ I stopped two staff people and asked who was supposed to be behind the nursing desk. I was told that they were out with the residents. O.K. then who could tell me what room my aunt was in at this time? After a little bit of flipping through papers I was told a room number. I proceeded to walk towards the room only to be stopped and told that she was no longer there. After 20 minutes of asking, staff no one really know ing what to do or where to go............I said they had 15 minutes to tell me where my aunt was or had been moved to!!! One staff person, who had been standing listening to the conversations, when asked - said " Oh yeah, she was taken back to the hospital". They had computers....could they have checked on the computer....no...we are not permitted to use the computer.........Could we have perhaps put on our professional hats? I came away with not a warm and fuzzy feeling of leaving a loved one?
