The truth about Glen Ridge

After reading the last review, I felt really sad because it was a bunch of garbage propagated by disgruntled ex employees claiming to be the relatives of patients. The account of events that this so called 'Suzanne' describes is so far from the truth it is truly amazing. Her readers are expected to believe that the Massachusetts Department of Public will totally ignore complaints made by patients and their families. Of course, 'Suzanne and her fellow junky will not mention that there is an independent patient advocate call the ombudsman who interview patients routinely and addresses and reports on complaints . We do live in the united states not a third world banana republic run by a dictator. To suggest that about a hundred law-abiding citizens (many who are Christians ) will decide to turn a blind eye to abuse is ridiculous! Finally , i think both writers seem to have personal vendettas against the director of nursing and the administrator. i can perceive the hatred. Why not deal with this in another way instead of misleading honest people who might be looking for placement for their family ? If you were terminated because of your drug abuse problem , seek help......Please!

Agreed!

What a terrible place! I have heard some horrific stories myself through people in the community. This is the last place that I would put a loved one in. I have heard that the new management in the building are tyrants! Who needs that when there are other good facilities in the area?

Should be on your list for abuse and worse nursing homes

Glen Ridge Nursing Home in Medford, MA needs to be on your list for abuse and worse nursing homes. Dear God that place is horrible, the Boston Herald recently ran an article about this place. Is anyone even aware that they have a male patient on a one to one basis because he raped a number of female patients? This is true, and Revera which owns glen Ridge keeps this man at glen Ridge. The neglect that goes on, CNA's do not answer call bells at all, they take 30-45 minutes to answer, the food is often cold and one has no idea what it is, the administrator Mike Bell, sits in his office, he NEVER makes rounds, he has no experience as an administrator, the DON often refuses to report abuse cases, the social worker Kirsten yells at patients, is abusive and nothing is ever done. There is much more going on in that place, yet the State of Mass turns a blind eye.
