Terrible Nursing Facility-Disrespectful, Incompetent

My mother was sent to Branywine Hall for Rehabilitation. She had extreme weakness in her right leg and it was felt that a stay at Brandywine Hall would benefit her recovery. Instead of increasing her strength, she left weaker. Not only did the nursing staff mis-medicate her, they over medicated her by giving her sedatives to keep her under control. Every time I came to visit she was asleep. In fact, it was reported that she slept through her therapy sessions. She had a history of low pressure: the nursing staff insisted she had hypertension, and prescribed high blood pressure medication to her, having the staff physician sign off for them. She sustained numerous difficulties from the mis-medication. They completely disregarded family, and it took me several times with phone calls from my mother's primary care physician to have the nursing staff stop their abuse in medication. My mother entered Branywine Hall Continent: She left completely incontinent and nearly crippled. They also stole her dentures. It required over 9 months of home therapy to return her to the level of ambulation she had prior to entering this nursing home. This is the worst nursing home I've had the misfortune to experience.
