Kingsport Assisted Living

Kingsport Assisted Living - Senior Care Options

Assisted living facilities have a common misconception about them. People think they are a new age term for nursing homes. This isn’t the case, in fact, they aren’t the same thing at all. At an assisted living facility you are allowed to leave whenever you want, and they should be considered senior apartments more than anything. You simply live there and get medical care should you need it. You won’t always be able to take care of yourself, and you want to enjoy your golden years. An ALF allows you to not worry about the medical side of being retired, while still enjoying life and everything it has to offer.

The cost of living in a Kingsport assisted living facility is cheaper than you might think as well. The average of a private, single bedroom apartment at an assisted living facility will cost about $31,656 a year. This comes out to be $2,638 a month, which is cheaper than living in a regular apartment in most cities. The price is projected to increase by only 1% all across Tennessee over a 5 year period, so you can expect these low prices for a long time.

Of course, you don’t want to be stuck in your room all day, you should be living it up during these years of retirement. Kingsport assisted living buildings are located extremely close to a lot of different activities you could do in your free time.

If visiting the outdoors is something you enjoy than Kingsport is a place you will enjoy living. There are a lot of parks and trails for you to walk down and enjoy being with nature. Bays Mountain Park is one of them; it is a large nature preserve that has an enormous 44 acre lake. Warrior Path State Park isn’t too far off of Bays Mountain Park and is named for the ancient Cherokee trail that’s close by. This trail is very large and has a lot of history to it; it’s easy to get lost in the history of the area.

For those who want to enjoy the outdoors with golf, there is plenty of that as well. There is the full length gold course near the Warriors Path that’s accurately named Tennessee Gold Trail at Warriors Path. It’s 18 beautiful holes and shows of the beauty of Tennessee. There is also Deer Run Family golf for those that play the game for fun, and maybe want to enjoy it with family.
